Ryllia C-Martyn Leads Financial Literacy Session to Empower Young Women Entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone

KAFI committed Community Finance Leader, has successfully delivered a financial literacy session focused on money management and savings for young women entrepreneurs in Wilberforce, Sierra Leone.
The session brought together small business owners between the ages of 18 and 35, with the aim of strengthening their financial knowledge and improving how they manage money in their daily lives and businesses. Through this initiative, Ryllia continues to play a key role in promoting financial awareness and economic empowerment in Sierra Leone.
Recognizing the growing financial challenges faced by young people, particularly women in business, Ryllia designed the session to address real and practical issues such as poor saving habits, unplanned spending, and exposure to harmful debt. Her facilitation style focused on simplicity, relatability, and practical application, ensuring that participants could easily connect with and apply the lessons.
During the session, participants were guided on the importance of financial literacy as a critical life skill. They explored how a lack of financial knowledge can lead to poor decisions and long term financial struggles, while also learning how the right knowledge can create opportunities and stability.
