KAFIPEDIA (1.0)
A National Financial Literacy Competition to Advance Financial Inclusion Across Nigeria
KAFIPEDIA, an initiative of KAFI Foundation, is pleased to announce the launch of the KAFIPEDIA 1.0 National Financial Literacy Competition. A large-scale, impact-driven program designed to strengthen financial literacy among students across Nigeria.
Scheduled to run from May 27th to October 1st, 2026, the competition will engage 1,000,000 students across 1,000 schools, spanning all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This initiative represents a strategic effort to equip young Nigerians with the financial knowledge, mindset, and decision-making capabilities required to succeed in an evolving economic landscape.
Theme: Driving Financial Inclusion Through Literacy
The 2026 edition is guided by the theme, “Driving Financial Inclusion Through Literacy.” This reflects KAFIPEDIA’s commitment to addressing a critical national challenge, limited access to practical and applicable financial education.
While access to financial services continues to expand, the ability to effectively understand and utilize these services remains uneven, particularly among young people. KAFIPEDIA is positioned to bridge this gap by delivering structured, relevant, and engaging financial literacy education within the school system.
Strategic Importance
Financial literacy is a foundational pillar of economic empowerment and inclusive growth. By targeting students at the primary and secondary school level, KAFIPEDIA seeks to influence financial behavior early, fostering a generation that is informed, responsible, and economically resilient.
The competition is designed to support:
- Sound financial decision-making
- Increased awareness of savings, budgeting, and responsible spending
- Early exposure to wealth creation principles
- Active youth participation in financial inclusion efforts
This initiative aligns with broader national and continental priorities, including youth development, poverty reduction, and sustainable economic advancement.

The program is intentionally designed to go beyond knowledge acquisition, with a strong emphasis on behavioral change and real-world application.
Nationwide Reach and Inclusion
KAFIPEDIA is committed to national inclusivity, with implementation across all 36 states and the FCT. The initiative will engage students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, including underserved communities, ensuring equitable access to financial education.
