Self-Discovery & Personal Growth

Introduction

Leadership begins with leading yourself before leading others. At the heart of leadership is self-discovery, a process of deeply understanding who you are, your strengths, weaknesses, values, emotions, and purpose.

For young people aged 18–35 who want to start a career and drive financial literacy in schools, this journey is not just about building skills but about becoming authentic leaders who inspire trust and transformation.

This module explores three essential areas:

  1. Identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Building self-confidence.
  3. Developing emotional intelligence for leadership.

It provides practical insights, activities, and real-life applications to help you grow into the kind of leader schools, peers, and communities need.

1. Why Self-Discovery Matters for Young Leaders

Self-discovery is like creating a map of yourself. Without this map, you can wander aimlessly, not knowing your direction or how best to use your abilities. With self-discovery, you gain clarity about:

  • Who you are (identity and values).
  • What you can do well (strengths and talents).
  • Where you need help (weaknesses and blind spots).
  • Why you want to lead (purpose and motivation).

For leaders in financial literacy, this is vital. If you want to inspire students in schools to budget, save, or dream of a financially secure future, you must first know your own habits, attitudes, and beliefs about money and leadership.

As Socrates once said, “Know thyself.” That’s the first step to meaningful leadership.

2. Identifying Strengths and Weaknesses

a. Discovering Your Strengths
Strengths are the qualities, skills, and behaviors you naturally do well. They give you energy and set you apart. Examples include:

  • Communication skills.
  • Creativity.
  • Empathy.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Resilience.

b. Recognizing Your Weaknesses
Weaknesses are areas where you struggle or need improvement. Examples:

  • Poor time management.
  • Fear of public speaking.
  • Impatience.
  • Inconsistency.

Recognizing weaknesses is not a sign of failure but a step toward growth.

3. Building Self-Confidence

a. What is Self-Confidence?
Confidence is believing in your ability to succeed, even when facing challenges.

b. Why Confidence is Crucial for Leaders

  • It inspires trust in others.
  • It allows you to take risks and innovate.
  • It enables you to stand before students, peers, or communities with authority.

c. How to Build Self-Confidence

  • Prepare and practice (e.g., for presentations).
  • Surround yourself with supportive people.
  • Celebrate small achievements.
  • Learn continuously and upgrade skills.

4. Emotional Intelligence (EI) for Leadership

a. What is Emotional Intelligence?
EI is the ability to understand and manage your emotions and the emotions of others.

b. The 5 Pillars of EI:

  1. Self-awareness.
  2. Self-regulation.
  3. Motivation.
  4. Empathy.
  5. Social skills.

c. Why EI Matters for Leaders

  • Helps you handle conflict wisely.
  • Enables deeper connection with students and peers.
  • Builds trust and teamwork.

d. Growing Emotional Intelligence

  • Practice mindfulness.
  • Listen actively.
  • Reflect before reacting.
  • Show empathy in daily interactions.

5. Linking Self-Discovery to Financial Literacy Leadership

  • If you recognize a weakness in financial discipline, work on it so you model good habits to students.
  • Confidence enables you to teach in classrooms with authority.
  • Emotional intelligence allows you to connect with students who may feel anxious about money.

Self-discovery makes you an authentic leader, students will not only learn from your words but also from your life.

6. Global Relevance for Young Leaders (18–35)

Whether in Africa, Asia, Europe, or the Americas, self-discovery is a universal foundation for leadership. Young leaders everywhere ask:

  • “Am I good enough to lead?”
  • “What if I fail?”
  • “What do I really want to do with my life?”

By strengthening your confidence, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness, you become capable of leading anywhere. Leadership is not about position or power, it’s about influence and impact, and that begins with knowing and growing yourself.

7. Practical Applications in Schools

Ways to use this module in financial literacy clubs:

  • Strengths mapping activity – Students list their strengths and how to use them in money management.
  • Confidence-building exercises – Students present budgeting tips to peers.
  • Emotional awareness games – Role-play financial scenarios (e.g., peer pressure to spend money) and discuss emotional responses.

By modeling self-discovery, you’ll inspire students to know themselves better and become more responsible with money.

Conclusion

Self-discovery and personal growth are the cornerstones of leadership. By identifying your strengths and weaknesses, building confidence, and developing emotional intelligence, you lay the foundation for inspiring and impactful leadership in schools and communities.

As a young leader, remember: Leadership begins within. The more you understand and grow yourself, the more capable you are of guiding others toward financial empowerment and social change.

This journey is lifelong, but every step makes you a stronger, more authentic leader. As you lead financial literacy in schools, you’re not just teaching money you’re shaping mindsets, building confidence, and inspiring generations to dream bigger and live wiser.

The foundation for leadership doesn't lay on just the eagerness to lead alone, it embraces the discovery of one's self, the motivation behind leadership and the determination to lead. In building a financial literacy movement, it is important that young leaders discover themselves and intricate issues as regarding their strength and weakness, this does not show that they are supper humans, but reveals progress, builds empathy, emotional recognition and awareness of common challenges in the lives of their mentees. As a matter of fact, a track record of growth and progress builds trust, confidence and connection between the leader and his/her follower. Leaders are to ensure confidence in leading to tackle challenges while setting an example for others to follow.

Leadership begins with leading yourself before leading others. It is really important to practice self discovery, as it helps one understand who they are, strengths, weaknesses and purpose. Self confidence is a master key in Life because if you are not confident enough other's find it hard to believe you're words and actions. In a situation where one gets stage fright it is important to try hard to to be confident because how you present yourself to the public lays a foundation whether they should trust what your are saying or doubt you.

    Module 3:

I've learned from this Self-Discovery and Personal Growth curriculum that before I can lead others, I must first lead myself. In order to become a genuine leader, I found that self-discovery is similar to making a personal map that enables me to comprehend my values, purpose, strengths, and shortcomings. I discovered that increasing my self-confidence enables me to lead or instruct others with authority, inspire trust, and take calculated risks. Another essential ability is emotional intelligence, which enables me to better control my own feelings, sympathize with others, and forge closer bonds with my team and other pupils. Since they enable me to provide an example of sound behavior and motivate others, I can now understand how self-awareness, confidence, and emotional intelligence are closely related to leadership in financial literacy because they enable me to set an example of virtue and encourage others to act responsibly. I learned from this module that personal development is a continuous process and that the more I work to understand and better myself, the more equipped I will be to positively influence my society.

It helps you discover your strengths so that you can fully utilise them and recognise your weaknesses so that you can fix them and find strengths in them. It builds confidence raises self awareness, empathy and emotional intelligence. It helps you function better as a financial leader , as a person and as an entrepreneur and promotes authenticity

  14. Chisomo Chimbayo from Malawi. This module has taught me that before leading other people, one must first discover the self. Knowing oneself helps one to understand who they are as a person, the values they uphold rather than what is expected of them by other people. Self discovery is important because itt makes one aware of his or her strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your own strength gives you an opportunity to make use of them towards great change. Being aware of your weaknesses is equally important because it highlights areas that require improvement. Apart from self discovery, a leader also needs to develop confidence and emotional intelligence so that he or she motivates and inspires other people.

Understanding your weaknesses does not mean you are a failure; rather, it shows that you are self-aware and willing to work on yourself to become a better person.

Self-discovery also helps you relate effectively with others, build stronger relationships, and manage your emotions wisely. By knowing who you are and what drives you, you can lead with confidence, empathy, and purpose—qualities that are essential for inspiring and guiding others toward success.

I’ve learnt that self-discovery is like a personal map it guides me in understanding who I truly am and helps me move through life with purpose. Without self-discovery, it’s easy to live aimlessly, doing things without knowing why. For me, taking time to understand myself is an ongoing journey. It means identifying my strengths, so I can use them to create impact, and acknowledging my weaknesses, so I can keep growing and improving.

Since I want to make a difference in my community and help students, I’ve realized how important it is to be aware of my habits and beliefs — especially around money and leadership. If I’m not clear about how I handle finances or lead others, I might not be able to guide them effectively. Self-discovery gives me that clarity and balance.

I also believe that self-confidence is the foundation of leadership. I want to model confidence so that students can learn that believing in themselves is key to success. By showing courage and authenticity, I can inspire them to do the same.

Equally, I’ve come to understand the power of emotional intelligence — being able to recognize, understand, and manage not only my own emotions but also those of others. This helps me connect with people genuinely, communicate with empathy, and respond with patience and understanding.

For me, self-discovery isn’t just about knowing who I am — it’s about becoming the kind of person who lifts others, leads with compassion, and continues to grow with purpose.

First of all Self Discovery is about exploring who you are as a person, who you are as an entrepreneur and a leader. It's all about what can you do, what are you good at ,what are your weaknesses and what is your motivation, your motivation to success and your motivation to lead .
Further more This module has taught me that before leading other people, one must first discover the self. Knowing oneself helps one to understand who they are as a person, the values they uphold rather than what is expected of them by other people. Self discovery is important because itt makes one aware of his or her strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your own strength gives you an opportunity to make use of them towards great change.

Authentic leadership is intrinsically linked to the ongoing journey of self-discovery and personal growth, as leading others effectively must begin with a profound understanding of oneself. This process requires leaders to engage in continuous introspection, confronting their strengths, vulnerabilities, values, and biases with honesty. By cultivating self-awareness through reflection and feedback, they not only clarify their own purpose and vision but also build the emotional intelligence necessary to inspire and empower others. Ultimately, this commitment to inner development transforms leadership from a mere exercise of authority into a facilitative role, where the leader’s own growth creates a safe and motivating environment that encourages the entire team to evolve, take risks, and realize their potential.

This is knowing your values, beliefs, attitudes, what you're capable of doing and also your emotions and that of other people to nurture the environment you're leading and bringing a social change.

By knowing this i will be able to inspire others through experience but not only words.

    SELF DISCOVERY AND PERSONAL GROWTH

from this module, I have learnt that leadership doesn't with a title or position but rather how a person is able to motivate, influence and inspire his or her own life before doing the same to other people. I have also learnt that self discovery is about understand yourself (things that you are good at, things that you need to improve, values, emotions and purpose). Self confidence helps an individual to gain trust from people and also have authority in each and everything that he or she is doing. Confidence can be built through practice, cerebrating wins even if they are small just to mention a few. Last but not list I have also learnt that emotional intelligence hells an individual to understand his or her emotions and those of other people which can help in solving conflicts and leading wisely

In this module, I've learnt about self-discovery and personal growth. It mainly aims at knowing yourself first before others by identifying your strengths and weaknesses, self-confidence and emotional intelligence. For one to be a good leader, firstly, one has to have the ability to master oneself and be able to learn more from other people. This involves knowing your strengths, weaknesses, values and emotions. For example, there may be instances whilst leading where people may criticise you, in scenarios like this, a good leader is likely to thrive and have self-control because of their ability to understand emotional intelligence.

    Module 3.
Summary: Discovery and personal growth are essential parts of self-development. Discovery involves exploring who you are—your values, passions, strengths, and weaknesses. Through reflection, learning, and new experiences, you begin to understand what drives you and what areas you need to improve. This self-awareness is the foundation for meaningful growth and transformation.
Personal growth, on the other hand, is the process of using that self-awareness to make positive changes. It includes setting goals, building new habits, overcoming fears, and developing skills that help you reach your full potential. As you grow, you become more confident, resilient, and capable of handling life’s challenges, both personally and professionally.

I understand the important it is to recognize what I do well, where I need improvement, and how this shapes my ability to lead others. The module also taught me that confidence comes from preparation, support, and personal growth. This process requires leaders to engage in continuous introspection, confronting their strengths, vulnerabilities, values, and biases with honesty. By cultivating self-awareness through reflection and feedback, they not only clarify their own purpose and vision but also build the emotional intelligence necessary to inspire and empower others.

personal growth and self discovery to me look a lot like identifying your strength and weaknesses. Everyone has both, we want to maximize and benefit from our strengths and work on improving our weaknesses. One way of discovering these is by Journaling, truthfully, and by also asking people around you. Self confidence and emotional intelligence are important qualities to have in this self discovery journey. Believing in yourself and your qualities as well as regulating your emotions are a perfect puzzle to this. Having all these qualities helps you model good qualities, be easy to be around, especially in finance spaces as well as dealing with people that are anxious about finances.

Before one sees themselves as fit to be a leader of another one should check if they are a good leader of themselves . Good self leadership including walking the talk of wisdom and being able to practice what you preach to others. As a result self leadership is the start of leadership. As Kafi we have learnt that leaders are made and they are not born , as a result a leader may start with noting down their strengths , weaknesses , values , emotions , purpose and skills. A real leader should be self aware , this builds one’s identity, values eg resilience, talents( that may shape them into selecting good business opportunities ) and other talents , purpose and motivation. Self leadership will also having the wisdom to select between bad and good advice , to choose who should influence you because bad apples may affect the good ones if they are closely connected. As leaders of KAFi self confidence is essential because it also shapes how one operates as a financial literacy teacher . Self confidence will build a KAFI leader to know strengths and weaknesses in money spending and saving , have the self confidence to innovate creative ideas , having the values of resilience to push when setbacks happen , having the consistency and discipline in saving , good spending and good dept if necessary. Moreover, self intelligence is also about keeping one’s emotions in check and see what are the weaknesses and strengths in relations to emotions . Having good emotions leads to good communication and connection with to the community at large and bad emotions will do the opposite and also affect trust . As Kafi it is good to note that personal control of one’s emotions also makes one accept bad feedbacks concerning our serves . As people of good personal character and who are in check of their emotions and are true leaders we should always see opportunities in negative situations and think how to solve the issues to have a business boost.

I learned that self-discovery and emotional intelligence are powerful foundations for leadership. Emotional intelligence through self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills helps leaders manage conflict, build trust, and connect deeply with students and peers. I also learned that true leadership begins with understanding myself: my strengths, weaknesses, emotions, and personal values.

This module showed me how self-discovery directly strengthens financial literacy leadership. When I understand my own money habits, I can model discipline and confidence to students. Emotional intelligence also helps me communicate financial concepts with empathy, especially to students who feel anxious or discouraged about money. Self-discovery makes leadership authentic, because students learn not just from what we teach but from how we live.

As the Founder & CEO of EmpowerAfrica Network, a Pan-African non-profit committed to leadership development, education, entrepreneurship, advocacy, rehabilitation, climate action, and ICT, this module reinforces the importance of continuous personal growth. For young leaders globally Africa, Asia, Europe, and beyond self-discovery builds confidence, strengthens influence, and prepares us to lead responsibly in schools, communities, and organizations.

    Key takeaway:

The self discovery lies in the course of knowing oneself. Discovering yourself involves the communication skills, resilience skills, problem solving skills, creativity .
Identification of weaknesses involve knowing what you are not good at and capitalizing om your strengths and working towards making them netter.
And in conclusion linking weakness to self discovery involves fusing the weaknesses a way that you lead with control and authority when handling leaners and the community context.

Through this module, I have come to understand that self discovery acts like a guide that helps me navigate my life with intention. It allows me to understand my identity, my values, and the direction I want to take. Without this awareness, it becomes easy to drift through life without purpose or clarity. For me, learning about myself is a continuous journey. It involves recognizing the strengths that give me the ability to create positive change, as well as accepting the weaknesses that remind me where I need to grow.

Because I am committed to uplifting my community and supporting students, I now see how important it is to understand my own patterns, beliefs, and behaviors, especially when it comes to money and leadership. If I am not conscious of how I manage my finances or how I influence others, I may not be able to support those who look up to me. Self discovery helps me build this awareness so I can lead with confidence and be a reliable source of guidance.

I have also realized that confidence is a major part of leadership. I want to embody confidence so that those I mentor can learn to trust their abilities and believe in their potential. By being courageous, honest, and consistent, I can inspire others to step into their own strength.

In addition, I have learned the importance of emotional intelligence. Being able to understand my own emotions and recognize the emotions of others allows me to communicate with empathy and respond to situations with patience. This ability helps me build genuine relationships and support people more effectively.

Self discovery, for me, is not just about understanding who I am. It is about becoming someone who leads with purpose, connects with others deeply, and continues to grow into a better version of myself.

I've learned that self-discovery and personal growth is crucial for becoming an authentic leader. After understanding your strengths and weaknesses, you know the areas you're good at and those that need improvement. You can't lead others if you can't lead yourself; for instance, you can't teach others about budgeting if you're not practicing it yourself. Leadership is about inspiring others to follow your good habits - you can only lead what you've mastered. A leader with self-confidence is one who is inspiring and trustworthy.

Self-Discovery as the Foundation of Leadership. The core argument is that effective leadership, especially for young leaders (aged 18-35) driving initiatives like financial literacy in schools, must begin with a deep and honest understanding of oneself.
The module is structured around three essential areas for personal development:1. Identifying Strengths and Weaknesses: This involves a conscious audit of one's innate abilities (e.g., communication, empathy) and areas for improvement (e.g., time management, impatience). Recognizing weaknesses is framed not as a failure, but as a critical step for targeted growth.
    2. Building Self-Confidence: Defined as the belief in one's ability to succeed, confidence is presented as crucial for inspiring trust, taking risks, and leading with authority. It is built through preparation, supportive networks, and celebrating small wins.
    3. Developing Emotional Intelligence (EI): EI is the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions and those of others. Its five pillars—self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—are highlighted as vital for handling conflict, building trust, and connecting deeply with others.

The content consistently links these self-discovery principles directly to the role of a financial literacy leader. It emphasizes that by the knowing and improving oneself, a leader becomes authentic, modeling good habits and connecting genuinely with students. The module includes practical applications for school settings and concludes that this internal work is a universal, lifelong journey that transforms leadership from a position of power to one of genuine influence and impact.

The main idea of these materials is that authentic leadership is an inside-out process. You cannot effectively lead, inspire, or empower others until you first lead, understand, and empower yourself.
This concept of self-discovery acts as the operating system for a leader:
    · It Provides Direction: Just as a map guides a journey, self-awareness (knowing your strengths, weaknesses, and values) gives you clarity on where you can best lead and how.
    · It Builds Credibility: Your ability to lead is not just about what you say, but who you are. Students and peers will trust a leader who is self-aware, confident, and in control of their emotions far more than one who simply holds a title.
    · It Enables Authentic Impact: Leadership is reframed from "position and power" to "influence and impact." This impact is most profound when it comes from an authentic place—when your teachings, especially on topics like financial discipline, are mirrored by your own personal growth and habits. this module teaches that the most powerful tool a leader has is their own, well-understood self. By investing in self-discovery, a young leader builds an unshakable foundation from which they can then build up others, transforming communities by first transforming themselves.

  126. My name is Jackson Mbazima from Zambia, and I am part of the KAFI Financial Literacy Program, Cohort 5, Batch C. From this lesson, I have learned that leadership begins with oneself. Before leading others, you must first learn to lead yourself, and before you can do that, you need to discover who you are. As a leader, it's essential to understand your strengths, weaknesses, values, and purpose; knowing your identity will provide you with a strong foundation.

Additionally, confidence is crucial in leadership. As a leader, you must believe in your ability to succeed. You can build confidence through continuous learning, practice, and by surrounding yourself with supportive and inspiring people. Lastly, emotional intelligence is an important skill for leadership. A leader needs to have control over their own emotions and be aware of the emotions of others.

Meaningful leadership starts by identifying one's strengths to maximize impact and recognizing weaknesses for deliberate growth, while concurrently building self-confidence to inspire trust and take necessary risks. Crucially, developing Emotional Intelligence (EI)—which encompasses self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—enables leaders to connect deeply with students, manage conflict wisely, and model the personal discipline required to genuinely inspire others toward financial empowerment and responsible decision-making.

I have learnt that good leadership starts with knowing myself. Before I can lead others, I must understand my strengths, weaknesses, emotions, and purpose. Self discovery helps me know who I am, what I am good at, and what I need to improve.

I learnt that strengths are the things I do well, like communicating, being creative, or solving problems. Weaknesses are areas where I struggle, such as time management or fear of speaking. Knowing both helps me grow and become a better leader.

I learnt that confidence is very important. It means believing in myself even when things are hard. Confidence helps me teach others, stand in front of students, and take new opportunities. I can build confidence by practicing, celebrating small wins, learning new skills, and staying around supportive people.

I also learnt about emotional intelligence, which means understanding my own feelings and the feelings of others. The parts of emotional intelligence are self awareness, self control, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Emotional intelligence helps me solve conflicts, connect with students, and build trust.

I learnt that self discovery is very important for teaching financial literacy. If I know my strengths, I can teach better. If I improve my weak areas, I become a good example. If I use emotional intelligence, I can understand students who feel stressed about money.

Self discovery means knowing your strength and weaknesses. When you know your strength and your weaknesses, you are always aware of where to improve. When it comes to leadership, the people you lead doesn't only learn from what you tell them, but they also learn from what you do (action) which makes self discovery so significant when working with people and money

On this module I have become aware that self awareness is another vital Key to being better at anything from enterprenuship to leadership to a whole self.
And understanding myself deeply begins with understanding the areas am good at and using them to my advantage while I use my weakness as a point of improvement which becomes part of my story to inspire others
Which then helps me boost my confidence to be able to face any audience, and help others trust me. And on this I need to be kind enough to myself and celebrate even little progress ,practice , and learn more.
EI is another important aspect which I need to have as an aspiring young leader as it helps me to be better with handling not just my emotions but other people' as well, to be mindful and listen actively and hence build trust and team work.

Self-discovery is the foundation of effective leadership, especially for young people who want to champion financial literacy in schools. In order to lead yourself before leading others, it entails being aware of your strengths, shortcomings, values, emotions, and purpose. Self-awareness helps young leaders understand who they are, what they are good at, where they need help, and why they want to be leaders. They may inspire trust in students, peers, and communities by modeling sound financial practices and communicating confidently.

Young people need to develop emotional intelligence, self-confidence, and awareness of their talents and weaknesses in order to become leaders. Strengths like creativity, empathy, or resilience help leaders stand out, while identifying flaws stimulates improvement. While emotional intelligence, encompassing self-awareness, empathy, and strong social skills facilitates improved communication and conflict resolution, confidence enables leaders. By implementing these abilities through practical activities such as strengths mapping, presentations, and emotional awareness exercises, young leaders globally may have substantial influence and steer students toward responsible financial conduct.

Self-discovery has shown me that before I can guide young people in schools toward financial discipline and empowerment, I must first understand my own values, strengths, fears, and patterns. From this module i've just discovered myself and known my personal growth. This is just in simple terms the ability to identify your strength and weaknesses.
By strength i mean knowing who you are, what you can do well.
By weaknesses i mean where you need help, why you want to be a lead.

For strength you might consider things like:
    - communication skills
    - problem solving

For my case my strength is that i am a proper time manager, i really manage my time well and that has helped me alot in my success. My weaknesses is that i get too nervous in addressing the public .
Self confidence is also a key matter whereby you have to believe in yourself and face the challenges.
You ought to also have emotional intelligence and this as the ability to understand your emotions.
This helps creates self awareness and build your social skills. Would be glad to use this knowledge in empowering others apart from KAFI team.

    Take Away;
    1. Self-Discovery is Foundational:

    · It is the "map" for your leadership journey, providing clarity on your identity, values, strengths, weaknesses, and purpose.
    · For a financial literacy leader, you must understand your own relationship with money to effectively inspire others.

    2. Three Essential Areas for Growth:

    · Identify Strengths & Weaknesses: Acknowledge what you do well and where you need improvement. Recognizing weaknesses is a step toward growth, not failure.
    · Build Self-Confidence: Crucial for inspiring trust, taking risks, and leading with authority. Built through preparation, support, and celebrating small wins.
    · Develop Emotional Intelligence (EI): The ability to manage your own emotions and understand others'. Its five pillars (self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, social skills) are vital for handling conflict, building trust, and connecting deeply.

    3. Direct Application to Financial Literacy Leadership:

    · Your personal growth directly translates to your effectiveness. Modeling good financial habits, teaching with confidence, and using empathy to ease students' money anxieties make you a credible and authentic leader.

    4. Universal & Practical:

    · This journey is globally relevant for young leaders facing universal doubts about capability and purpose.
    · The concepts can be directly applied in schools through activities like strengths mapping, confidence-building presentations, and role-playing financial scenarios.

Today I learnt that true leadership begins with understanding myself. Before I can guide anyone, I need to know my own strengths, weaknesses, what I believe in, and why I do the things I do. When I know myself well, I can lead others in a more honest and genuine way.

I also learnt that confidence is built slowly. When I prepare well, learn new things, and appreciate small wins, my confidence grows. This helps me speak to people, guide young people, and make good decisions without fear.

Another important lesson was emotional intelligence. This means understanding my own emotions and also respecting how others feel. When I listen, show care, and try to understand others, they trust me more and feel comfortable working with me.

I now see that self-discovery is very important, especially for someone teaching financial literacy. When I understand myself, I can set a better example and help students in a more meaningful way.

In short, a good leader is someone who knows himself deeply, leads with empathy, steps into other people’s shoes, and guides them through a journey he has walked before.
