KAFI FINANCIAL LITERACY LEADERSHIP FELLOWSHIP (FLLF) COHORT 4

WELCOME TO KAFI COHORT 4: EMPOWERING 115 YOUNG LEADERS ACROSS AFRICA

We are thrilled to officially welcome 115 exceptional young leaders from across Africa into the KAFI Financial Literacy Leadership Fellowship (FLLF) Cohort 4!

This new cohort represents a bold generation of changemakers who are passionate about transforming their communities through financial literacy, inclusion, and sustainable leadership. Each fellow has been carefully selected for their commitment to making a difference and their desire to lead positive change through education, innovation, and empowerment.

At KAFI Foundation, we believe that financial literacy is not just knowledge, it is power, freedom, and a tool for transformation. Through the Fellowship, we are building a new generation of leaders equipped to Kick Against Financial Illiteracy (KAFI) across Africa, one community, one school, and one leader at a time.

THE KAFI HUB CAREER TIERS

The KAFI Financial Literacy Leadership Fellowship is structured through a unique career progression system known as the KAFI Hub Career Tiers. This tiered model allows fellows to grow in knowledge, skill, and impact from foundational learning to leadership roles across the continent.

Tier 1: Trainee (Foundation) – Free Membership

Every fellow begins their journey in the Trainee Tier, where they gain a strong foundation in financial education and leadership.
In this stage, participants learn in four core areas:

  • Personal Finance
  • Leadership
  • Financial Literacy
  • Entrepreneurship

Fellows also gain access to:
a. 40+ educational videos and digital resources
b. Mentorship and hands-on learning experiences
c. Assessments, projects, and quizzes for practical understanding
d. The KAFI Badge upon successful completion

Tier 1 builds the mindset, discipline, and financial confidence every fellow needs to create lasting impact.

Tier 2: Alumni Network – $5 Membership

This is where transformation meets opportunity. The KAFI Alumni Network is a space for active leadership and community engagement.

At this stage, fellows:

 •  Upon completing Tier 1 and entry into Tier 2, participants earn their official KAFI Financial Literacy Leadership Fellowship Certificate, symbolizing their readiness to lead financial literacy programs within and beyond their communities.

  • Launch KAFI Clubs in schools and local communities
  • Organize financial literacy campaigns and projects
  • Access internships, advocacy roles, and community placement opportunities
  • Receive mentorship from experienced financial literacy leaders

Exclusive Grant Opportunity For Tier 2 (KAFI Alumni Network) – Q1 2026 Fellowship Grant

One of the most exciting parts of the journey is the Financial Literacy Leadership Fellowship Grant, coming up in Q1 2026.

Only fellows who qualify and complete Tier 2 will be eligible to participate in this prestigious grant program. The FLLF Grant will provide funding and empowerment opportunities to help selected young leaders design and implement community-based financial literacy, inclusion, and sustainability projects in their countries.

This initiative aligns with KAFI Africa’s broader vision to reduce poverty through financial education and create a network of empowered leaders driving local and national impact.

Tier 3: Leadership Roles

The third tier is designed for fellows who aspire to lead others and expand their influence. It consists of three progressive levels:

  • Level 1: Mentor (Intermediate)
  • Level 2: Country Coordinator (Advanced)
  • Level 3: Continent Coordinator (Professional)

These leaders play key roles in mentoring new fellows, coordinating KAFI programs across countries, and driving the overall mission of Kick Against Financial Illiteracy (KAFI) across Continents.

BUILDING A CONTINENT OF FINANCIALLY EMPOWERED LEADERS

Through the Financial Literacy Leadership Fellowship, KAFI is creating a network of young visionaries who will lead financial literacy education, innovation, and advocacy in their communities.

Each fellow is not just a participant, they are a voice of change, a leader in training, and an ambassador of financial empowerment.

From Lagos to Lusaka, from Accra to Kampala and other countries, these 115 young leaders represent the next wave of financial educators who will shape a more financially responsible and prosperous Africa.

A JOURNEY OF PURPOSE AND TRANSFORMATION

As Cohort 4 begins their journey, we are confident that they will carry forward the mission of KAFI Africa with excellence, creativity, and passion.

Together, we are building a continent where financial literacy becomes a lifestyle, and every young person regardless of background  has access to the tools and knowledge to thrive.

Welcome to Cohort 4, a fellowship of purpose, leadership, and impact!

    Module 2.

leadership is not only for the “big names.” It is for anyone who dares to step up, inspire others, and make a difference. Leadership is about influence that brings positive changes to our environment or community.
No one is born a leader
Anyone can learn the skill to lead others.
    Leadership is about taking responsibility.
Yes we leaders at KAFI have the potential to shape tomorrow through financial literacy knowledge.
