34 Emerging Leaders Selected from 150 Applicants
The KAFI Team is pleased to officially announce the admission of 34 Emerging Leaders into KAFI Cohort 46 following the completion of the Cohort 46 selection and evaluation process.
A total of 150 leaders enrolled and participated in the admission process, competing for a limited number of available positions. After a structured evaluation process, only 34 leaders successfully met the requirements for admission into the cohort.
This means that approximately one in every four applicants was selected for Cohort 46. The outcome reflects the competitive nature of the selection process and the importance KAFI places on identifying leaders who demonstrate the potential, commitment and readiness required to participate in the KAFI leadership journey.
Congratulations to the 34 Selected Emerging Leaders
To the 34 leaders who have been admitted into KAFI Cohort 46, congratulations.
Your selection is an achievement. You were part of a pool of 150 applicants, and your name successfully made it onto the official admission list.
You are now officially recognised as an Emerging Leader of KAFI Cohort 46.
Your Emerging Leader Number serves as your official identification within Cohort 46. You should keep this number safe and use it whenever required for KAFI-related activities, communication, records, assessments and other official cohort processes.
However, admission should not be viewed simply as an opportunity to receive a title or identification number. It represents the beginning of a responsibility.
As an Emerging Leader, you are expected to take your learning seriously, participate actively, demonstrate discipline and uphold the standards expected of members of the KAFI leadership community.
The selection process may have brought you into the cohort, but what you do after admission will determine the value of your KAFI experience.
To the 116 Leaders Who Were Not Selected
To the 116 leaders whose names did not appear on the final admission list, we acknowledge your participation in the Cohort 46 application process.
Unfortunately, not everyone who enrolled could be admitted.
With 150 leaders competing for only 34 available positions, the admission process was necessarily selective. The final outcome was determined by the results of the evaluation process and the available admission capacity.
Not being selected for Cohort 46 does not erase the effort you made by applying, but it does mean that you were not successful in securing one of the available positions in this cohort.
KAFI appreciates every leader who expressed interest in joining the programme. Your willingness to learn, develop your leadership capacity and contribute to your community remains valuable.
We encourage unsuccessful applicants to continue developing themselves, strengthening their knowledge and looking for future opportunities where available.
A Competitive Selection Process
KAFI Cohort 46 was designed as a competitive leadership intake.
The number of applicants significantly exceeded the number of available admission positions. Therefore, the KAFI Team could not admit everyone who enrolled.
The evaluation process was used to determine which applicants would proceed into the official cohort. Selection was based on the outcome of that process rather than simply on the number of people who expressed interest.
This approach allows KAFI to maintain a focused learning environment and ensure that admitted leaders are prepared to participate meaningfully in the programme.
The final list of 34 Emerging Leaders therefore represents the outcome of the official Cohort 46 admission process.
What Admission Means
Admission into KAFI Cohort 46 is the beginning of a structured leadership and learning experience.
Selected Emerging Leaders will be expected to engage with KAFI's learning activities, complete assigned tasks, participate in cohort activities and demonstrate the discipline required throughout the programme.
The journey will require more than simply being present.
Emerging Leaders will be challenged to learn, apply, serve and lead. The knowledge gained through the programme is intended to become practical value that can be taken into communities, organisations and future leadership opportunities.
KAFI believes that leadership development should not end with classroom learning. Leaders must be equipped to use what they learn to influence positive change around them.
For this reason, Cohort 46 should be approached with seriousness, responsibility and a willingness to grow.
The Beginning of a New Leadership Journey
For the 34 selected leaders, Cohort 46 marks the beginning of a new stage in their relationship with KAFI.
You have earned your place in the cohort, but your responsibility starts now.
Use this opportunity to build your knowledge. Take the learning seriously. Participate in the activities. Connect with fellow leaders. Ask questions. Complete your assignments. Develop your capacity and, most importantly, look for ways to translate what you learn into meaningful action.
KAFI is building a community of leaders who can contribute to financial literacy, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, leadership development and community transformation.
The expectation is therefore clear: do not simply complete the programme; make the experience count.
