Call for KAFI Country Coordinators & Deputies

A New Chapter of Leadership Begins

Across Africa, a silent revolution is rising one powered not by political promises or economic forecasts, but by people. Everyday people. Passionate people. People who believe that one of the greatest tools for liberation is financial literacy. At the heart of this movement stands KAFI (Kick Against Financial Illiteracy), a growing network of changemakers united by one mission: to ensure that every child, youth, and community has the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make sound financial decisions.

As this movement continues to expand across the continent, strong, visionary, and committed leaders are needed to guide its growth in different countries. Today, the KAFI Leadership Hub opens its doors to alumni who are ready to step into higher responsibility, greater impact, and stronger leadership. It is a call to those who have demonstrated passion, integrity, and consistency and who are now ready to lead their nation’s chapter to new heights.

This is the official call for applications for the positions of Country Coordinator and Deputy Country Coordinator across eligible KAFI countries.

A Movement Powered by Leaders Who Care

KAFI is not just an organization; it is a community of shared values. Since inception, the foundation has operated on a simple belief: financial literacy is not a privilege for the elite, it is a right, a necessity, and a tool for empowerment. Our alumni network is making this belief a reality through school outreach, community trainings, digital learning content, advocacy, curriculum development, and youth empowerment initiatives.

But no movement can grow without leaders. In each country where KAFI has gained traction, dedicated alumni have stepped up to coordinate activities, mobilize volunteers, organize events, and represent KAFI on national platforms. Their influence has contributed to the growth of KAFI’s reputation as one of Africa’s fastest-rising financial literacy movements.

Today, we take the next bold step to strengthen this leadership structure.

Why This Matters

African communities continue to face financial challenges that stem not only from limited resources, but from limited financial knowledge:

  • Young people navigate life without understanding basic budgeting and saving.
  • Families make critical money decisions without proper information.
  • Entrepreneurs struggle due to lack of financial planning.
  • Students graduate into adulthood unprepared for real-world finance.

KAFI exists to bridge this gap but its success relies heavily on Country Coordinators and Deputy Country Coordinators who understand the local context, speak the language of community, and can inspire people toward greater financial awareness.

These roles are not ceremonial. They are leadership mandates designed for alumni who are ready to create meaningful change.

The Qualities We Are Looking For

The application process is simple, but the expectations are high. Interested alumni are required to submit a 100-word motivation statement, a concise and compelling summary of why they are the right fit for the role.

Your statement should demonstrate:

1. Commitment to Financial Literacy

We want leaders who are not just passionate, but genuinely driven to expand financial education within their communities.
If you have been active in KAFI activities, led initiatives, or engaged in financial awareness projects, this is the place to show it.

2. Leadership and Community Experience

KAFI thrives where strong leadership thrives. Applicants should highlight experiences that demonstrate responsibility, teamwork, project coordination, public speaking, community service, mentoring, or organizational skills.
Your influence does not need to be formal, what matters is the impact you’ve made.

3. A Clear Vision for the KAFI Movement in Your Country

We want leaders who are thinkers and builders. What do you see when you think about KAFI in your country?
Is it school outreach programmes?
Is it youth empowerment summits?
Is it national partnerships or policy influence?
Your vision will guide your leadership journey.

4. Why You Are the Best Fit

Leadership is personal. What makes you stand out? What strengths do you bring? How will you grow the movement, inspire volunteers, and represent KAFI with integrity?
This is your opportunity to state your value confidently and purposefully.

The Responsibilities Ahead

Becoming a Country Coordinator or Deputy Country Coordinator is both an honour and a responsibility.

Leaders in these roles will:

  • Drive national financial literacy initiatives
  • Coordinate state or regional ambassadors
  • Engage with schools, communities, and partners
  • Organize educational events and campaigns
  • Represent KAFI on local and national platforms
  • Mobilize volunteers and alumni
  • Report progress to the KAFI Leadership Hub
  • Build sustainable partnerships and collaborations

This is not a passive role, it is a chance to leave a legacy.

Why You Should Apply

If you have ever wanted to lead a national movement, influence change, or build a platform that touches lives, this is your opportunity. The KAFI leadership structure is growing fast, and the alumni chosen today will become the pioneers, decision-makers, and changemakers shaping the future of financial literacy in Africa.

You should apply if:

  • You believe in empowering people with financial knowledge
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility and service
  • You want to contribute to a growing pan-African movement
  • You want to strengthen your leadership portfolio
  • You are ready to grow your network and visibility
  • You want to be part of building the next generation of informed, financially empowered Africans

Your leadership can create opportunities for thousands and inspire even more.

How to Apply

All interested alumni are required to submit:

  • Your Full Name
  • Your Country
  • A recent headshot photo
  • A 100-word motivation statement addressing the four key areas listed above

This should be sent through the official KAFI submission channel or the designated platform shared with your alumni group.

Important Deadline

📅 Deadline: Wednesday, 10 December 2025

Late submissions will not be considered. Applicants are encouraged to submit early to avoid any delays.
